Shedeur Sanders was named to the Maxwell Award watch list on Monday morning. The award has been presented annually to the nation's most outstanding college football player since 1936.

Sanders represented Colorado at Pac-12 Media Day and is one of the most underrated players coming into the 2023 season. The Jackson State transfer enters his junior season after throwing for 70 TDs over the past two years. He earned the Deacon Jones Award as the top HBCU player last year.

Colorado goes into the season with over 70 new players on the roster.

The Maxwell Award watch list includes Sanders, along with last year's winner Caleb Williams (USC), Drake Maye (UNC), Bo Nix (Oregon), and Michael Penix Jr. (Washington).
