Travis Hunter’s Reaction To Potentially Joining $36 Million Rookie Quarterback
When the 2025 NFL Draft comes around, for any team that isn't in immediate need of a new quarterback, Colorado WR/CB will be the prized target.
Currently, the top three picks are going to the New York Giants, Las Vegas Raiders and New England Patriots. Hunter could easily fall into New England's lap since the Giants and Raiders will likely take a quarterback.
While live streaming on Twitch, he was asked about possibly going to the Patriots and joining current rookie QB Drake Maye on offense.
"Trav and Drake Maye?" he said. "That would be tough."
Of course, in the draft, it's not as if you get to choose who drafts you, but Hunter certainly didn't seem to hate the idea of landing there.
Currently in the first year of his four-year $36 million rookie contract, Maye has impressed many people.
He's accumulated 172-of-256 completed passes, 1,696 yards, 11 touchdowns, 8 interceptions and an 87 passer rating in 9 games played.
Maye has done that without a truly solidified No. 1 wide receiver on the team, and if you add Hunter, who this year had 92 receptions, 1,152 yards and 14 touchdowns, it could make for a lethal offense.
Considering that the Patriots took Maye with the No. 3 in the draft last year, it's assumed they'd want to surround him with an excellent supporting cast, and there might be nobody better for the job than Hunter.
