Georgia Tech Basketball weekly recruiting recap: 7/31
Georgia Tech Basketball has been working hard to fill out its 2024 class and is still in search of its first commitment. Some of the top prospects in the country are narrowing down their college choices and Georgia Tech is in the running for several players in this year's recruiting class.
Let's break down the week that was in Georgia Tech Basketball Recruiting.
1. Four-star center target Peyton Marshall sets his commitment date
Marshall has an offer from Georgia Tech and has visited Atlanta before. He has not dropped a top list of schools yet, but that could happen before his commitment date. He is a former Auburn commit.
Marshall is one of the best centers in the country. He is the No. 56 overall player in the 2024 class on 247Sports, the No. 9 center in the country, and the No. 6 player in the state of Georgia. This would be a great pickup for Stoudamire to land an in-state talent like this one. He is an imposing presence in the paint at 7'0 300 LBS and has the potential to be a force at the next level.
Other offers that Marshall holds include Auburn, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Cincinnati, Georgetown, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Miami, Missouri, NC State, Providence, and Xavier, among others.
2. Four-star shooting guard Gacarri Harris lists Georgia Tech among final six schools
Harris, who plays at Grayson High School (GA), released his top schools yesterday and had Georgia Tech, LSU, Stanford, Virginia Tech, Miami, and Purdue as the schools that he is focusing on.
Harris ranked as the No. 92 player in the 2024 class according to 247Sports, the No. 13 combo guard in the country, and the No. 11 player in the state of Georgia.
His other offers include Arizona State, Auburn, Georgia, Florida, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, SMU, and Tulane.
Harris has been a top performer across camps this summer being in his final six schools is huge for Damon Stoudamire and Georgia Tech. Landing in-state talent is one of the things that Stoudamire is looking to do as the head coach and Harris would be a great start.
