App State's Andrew Parker Jr. Boosted His Stock At Pro Day
Appalachian State linebacker Andrew Parker Jr. was not invited to the 2024 NFL Combine. However, after his performance during the Mountaineers' Pro Day this spring, perhaps he should have been.
The 6'2", 235-pound New Orleans native recorded a vertical jump of 38.5 inches. That would have been the second-highest at the combine among his position. He also recorded a three-cone drill time of 6.98 seconds, which was faster than any linebacker who tested at the combine.
Parker also posted 20 reps on the bench press, with a 10'4" broad jump and a 20-yard shuttle time of 4.26 seconds. Each of those three tests would have ranked third among the Linebacker combine participants this cycle.
"I just wanted to come out here and show I was an all-around (line)backer," Parker told appstatesports.com. "They had a few questions about me, I think really from my junior tape that they just wanted to see my range. I just wanted to show I could change direction with the best of them, that I can run with the best of them and that I'm just as explosive as some of the best of them."
Parker was an All-Sun Belt selection in 2023 after totaling 114 tackles. He'll now wait to hear his name called at the 2024 NFL Draft, which begins on April 25 in Detroit.
