Johnny Manziel Offers Advice to Arch Manning After Viral Halloween Party Photo
One of the greatest enigmas in college football resides in the Texas Longhorns' quarterback room.
The No. 5 Longhorns have one of, if not the most popular player in college football in the room, but he is currently waiting his turn behind Quinn Ewers. The player in question happens to be the nephew of Peyton and Eli Manning, Arch Manning.
Unlike most college athletes his age with a platform similar to his, Manning isn't active on social media. He's posted just 10 times on Instagram, and most of his captions are as generic as they can be. He leads a private lifestyle despite being at one of the biggest programs in the country, so when fans do get a glimpse at Manning off of the field, they appreciate it.
Even former Heisman winner Johnny Manziel enjoyed Manning's Halloween costume that he donned this past week, and the fact that he was having some fun as a college student. Something that Manziel was well-versed in during his time in College Station.
However, it wasn't just the fact that Manning was a normal college kid that excited Manziel, but also the fact that Manning wore a Scooby-Doo costume, as seen in the photo below, which has around 500,000 views. A costume that Manziel himself wore back during his college days at Texas A&M.
On top of enjoying the potential tribute to himself, Manziel also offered up some advice for Manning who will surely experience Manziel-like attention when he takes over as the starter.
"You kind of see in the picture a little bit he's obviously a little ducked off more in the corner than I was whenever I donned mine," Manziel said of Manning's costume in a TikTok. "But this gives me a nice little idea of what Arch is doing a little bit off-the-field. This is a guy who...comes from the Manning family. You would think very, very strict.
"But you know this guy's having a good time in college as well," Manziel said. "Which is great to see something that I definitely give him some credit to. Go out, have some fun enjoy your time when you're in college. And the Scooby-Doo is a heck of a choice."
Aside from making an appearance as Scooby-Doo during the bye week, Manning is hoping to help this Texas team contend for an SEC title and the College Football Playoff. He played a pivotal role in keeping the team's season alive after Ewers missed 2.5 games with an oblique injury, and is now ready and waiting if his number gets called again.
On the year, Manning has thrown for 920 yards and nine touchdowns with two picks. He and the Longhorns will return to action on Saturday against the Florida Gators.
