Steve Sarkisian Under Fire For Quinn Ewers Decision Against Kentucky

With the No. 3 Texas Longhorns (9-1) hosting the Kentucky Wildcats (4-6) in Week 13 for senior day, all eyes were on quarterback Quinn Ewers.

The third-year starter's future status has yet to be confirmed despite reports revealing he's expected to declare for the NFL draft, but Saturday's game was being treated as the final home game of his Texas career. He and the Longhorns got off to a hot start in the first half, going up by as many as 17 points.

However, Ewers came up limping after a drive that ended in a Jaydon Blue touchdown, and it became clear the rest of the game he was bothered by it. Sarkisian confirmed at the half that Ewers was "fine," but fans didn't think it was the right move to keep him in.

With the Longhorns never losing control of the game, many fans expressed frustrations with Steve Sarkisian for not pulling Ewers in favor of Arch Manning to preserve him for the rest of the season.

"I don't understand why he's risking QE when he's playing Aggy next week. If he's just going to turn astound and hand off, Arch can do that," said one fan.

"It shouldn’t be a question. Pull him and rest for A&M," added another.

"Boy if we don’t put Arch Manning in this game, Quinn can barely bend over to tie his shoes," chimed in another fan.

"This is on sark. Ewers clearly too injured to play at a decent level and you have Arch (expletive) Manning waiting to go in," commented one fan.

While Ewers was healthy enough to finish the game, it wasn't pretty. At one point, he fumbled the ball after it slipped out of his hand, and then it was returned for a touchdown. His pinpoint accuracy from earlier in the game was nowhere to be found, and his elusiveness in the pocket, which he just seemed to have found, disappeared.

The Longhorns went on to win 31-14 to advance to 10-1, but all eyes will be on Ewers' health.
