Angel Reese breaks the WNBA’s single-season rebounding record
Chicago Sky rookie Angel Reese can add to the long list of her accomplishments. She has broken the single-season WNBA rebounding record. The record was previously held by another LSU star Sylvia Fowles who played for the Tigers from 2004-2008.
”Coming into [the WNBA] I just knew my motor," Reese told ESPN’s Michael Fowler. "Offensive rebounds and defensive rebounds is something that I know I can always do. I knew it was going to translate right away. A lot of people think it's because I get my own [misses] but statistically, it's not. People think it's because I'm the tallest on the court, when I'm not. It's being able to go down there and bang, doing things that a lot of people don't want to do. Defense and rebounding wins championships. And I've won championships at every level by just doing that.”
Despite all of Reese’s work in Sunday’s game, the Chicago Sky lost their sixth consecutive game to Minneapolis. Their record is now 11-21 but the team is still hoping for a playoff spot.
