Brian Kelly is proud of his team after the win over Arkansas

Brian Kelly spoke to the media after the game about how well the defense played.

Opening Statement

“Obviously, these games have always been close games but to come down here and play the kind of football we did today which was control the line of scrimmage…We are proud of our group and proud of the way they prepared for this game. A lot of things are coming together for our football team so again proud of the effort. The game ball went to Damen Ramos. I thought the field goal kicks while the game was still in balance helped us stay ahead of it and keep the momentum going. Now we'll get 24 hours to enjoy it and then we gotta get back on the road and play the best team in the SEC right now.”

What do you think was so effective defensively?

Brian: The guys did their job the way they were supposed to do it when they needed to do it. They are beginning to execute at a much higher level consistently and it starts with controlling the line of scrimmage. Arkansas could not run the ball, they became one dimensional and when that happens, we can get after it. We can get after the quarterback and we made life difficult for him.
