Kim Mulkey gives a seven word response to Flau’jae’s showing in rout over Northwestern State
Kim Mulkey spoke to the media after the game about the defensive effort and Flau’jae’s performance.
On Flau’jae’s performance
Kim: I said it the last game, she's just playing with confidence…It just looks like she's floating out there and everything's just effortless. Her shots are consistent. I think she took two bad shots tonight and she knows it. One of the things she did really well tonight was she fed the post early. It was a while before she even took a shot so she's growing. She had seven rebounds tonight and she's just playing really well.
On defensive effort
Kim: I’m [pleased] for the most part. Rotations except for the last possession. We went in there immediately and we brought the film in there and and made them see where it broke down. It was very obvious where it broke down.
On the challenges of coaching with a big lead and what’s discussed in timeouts
Kim: I always challenge them to try to do something. Can we hold this team for the rest of the game to this many points? I never talk about how many points we can score, I just always want to say can you keep them at this? I'll tell you what it was, I think they scored 36 on us last year and I said can you keep them at 36 or below this year? A new team, let's see what we can do. And had we not given up that last bucket, you’d have held them to under [36].
