LSU Tigers get season opening victory
Flau’jae Johnson led all scorers with 25 points and Aneesah Morrow and Sa’Myah Smith each had double-doubles to lead the Tigers to a 95-44 victory over Eastern Kentucky.
Smith was also very impactful on the defensive end recording three blocked shots and a steal.
After the game, Coach Kim Mulkey shared her thoughts on her team’s efforts.
“We have depth, but we don’t have it right now,” said Mulkey. “Our depth will definitely help us down the road but we have to get them on the floor every day. If we do that than we can play physical, we can play a lot of kids, we can press.”
Mulkey went on to say, “I think it’s very obvious Flau’jae is playing effortlessly and why is that, she's in the greatest shape she's ever been in her life. And it’s coming very easy for her.”
The LSU women’s team will next play Northwestern State on Friday night at 8:00 pm CT. Check out the full postgame press conference below from Tiger Bait.
