Angel Reese's Former Teammate Reveals Truth About LSU Dismissal
Before Angel Reese was dominating the glass in the WNBA for the Chicago Sky, the rookie saw a very successful college career with the LSU Tigers.
In the 2022-2023 season, Reese led the Tigers to a national championship win over Caitlin Clark and the Iowa Hawkeyes. But in 2023-24, LSU made another deep March Madness run but saw their season come to an end in the Elite 8 at the hands of Iowa.
However, in December 2023, LSU coach Kim Mulkey revealed that guard Ketari Poole had been dismissed from the team but wouldn't reveal why, saying, "(Poole's) no longer with us."
Fast forward to September 26, Poole revealed the real reason why she had to leave the Tigers last season.
"Truthfully, [Mulkey] said that I sent in a scouting report to another school," Poole said. "I ain't do that s***... I was like, 'What do we do now?' She said, 'You're kicked off.' I said, 'Boom, aight.' She said, 'No longer on the team.' I took it, asked if I could still play. She said 'yep.' Scholarship, boom, was allowed to transfer. Now, I'm at Houston. Please stop asking me about that s***."
After spending two seasons with the Ohio State Buckeyes, Poole transferred to LSU in 2022, the season they won it all. In her first year in Baton Rouge, the 5-foot-8 guard from Bronx, New York played in 35 games, averaging 4.5 points, 2.6 rebounds and 2.4 assists.
The following season, Poole only played in four games before her dismissal following a December win over Lousiana, a game which Poole did not play.
After the 2023-24 season, Poole announced that she would be transferring to the Houston Cougars for her final year of eligibility.
