Spartan Hockey has to fix it...NOW!

Spartan Hockey drops the…puck!

Â
MSU had a 3-0 lead against archrival UM at the Joe and let them back for the tie. Something at the time I called a win for UM. Then they went to Big Rapids and lost yet again. I understand they were exhausted but with the NCAA tournament on the line, you overcome and adapt. That is what champions do.

Â
Then they came into a 2-game series on Friday and Saturday with the WMU Broncos. They had to win both in my opinion and they didn’t even get a point. The lost both. Now the Spartans are on the outside looking in and that is simply unacceptable at this point for this program.

Â
I have great admiration and respect for Rick Comley and I am confident he would even agree with me that this program shouldn't be at this point now. I have defended this program since he arrived but this is not acceptable, and he knows that. The season is not over, and there is a lot of hockey left but for MSU they are playing for a lot more then a tournament birth. They are now playing for all the players that came before and the pride of the program. I think they will pull it out but they have to start helping themselves.

Â
Excuses aren’t acceptable. Everyone has injuries and everyone is tired, now it is about just winning baby. I think they will. Comley is a great coach, and this is where great coaches shine. That is exactly what I expect him and this team to do. They can't afford not to. Their margin of error is over.
