Texas Star Arch Manning Could Eventually Replace Former $242 Million Pro Bowl QB

Texas Longhorns quarterback Arch Manning is not eligible to enter the NFL draft until 2026, but fans are still curious about potential fits. A lot can change between now and the 2026 NFL draft, so this is more of a fun exercise about the best potential landing spots for Manning.

Athlon Sports' Luke Easterling compiled a list of some of these best future NFL fits, including the Los Angeles Rams and New Orleans Saints. Teams in the market for a quarterback in the 2025 NFL draft are unlikely candidates for the eventual Manning sweepstakes one year later.

Another team Easterling mentioned as a great fit for Manning is the Pittsburgh Steelers

Texas Longhorns quarterback Arch Manning reacts after a touchdown.

"Teams like the New York Jets (Aaron Rodgers) and Los Angeles Rams (Matthew Stafford) could be looking to move on from aging veterans potentially heading into retirement, while others like the New York Giants (Daniel Jones), New Orleans Saints (Derek Carr), Pittsburgh Steelers (Justin Fields, Russell Wilson) and Tennessee Titans (Will Levis) could be looking for long-term upgrades over what they currently have at the top of the depth chart," Easterling wrote on Oct. 14.

Russell Wilson signed a one-year deal with the Steelers in 2024 after the Denver Broncos released their former five-year, $242 million quarterback. Both Wilson and Justin Fields will be free agents in 2025, but the Steelers could opt to re-sign one of the veterans as a potential bridge quarterback for a more long-term solution like Manning in 2026.

For now, Manning will need to solidify his NFL draft stock as the star is expected to emerge as the Longhorns QB1 in 2025.
