Utah Ranks Top 15 in Preseason Coaches Poll

USA Today's Top 25 Preseason Coaches Poll is out, and based on a consensus of votes from CFB head coaches, Utah is a top 15 team.

USA Today has officially released its Top 25 Preseason Coaches Poll, and Utah has cracked the top 15 based on votes cast by randomly selected college football head coaches.

In order, the Coaches poll has Georgia on top followed by Ohio State, Oregon, Texas, Alabama, Ole Miss, Notre Dame, Michigan, Penn State, Florida State, Mizzou, LSU, Utah, Clemson, Tennessee, Oklahoma, K-State, OK-State, Miami, Texas A&M, Arizona, NC State, USC, Kansas, and rounding out the Top 25 is Iowa.

The Utes are one of five Big 12 teams in the rankings, and coming in at 13, Utah ranks four spots higher than the next conference opponent in Kansas State who comes in at 17. Oklahoma State file in one spot after at 18, with Arizona at 21, and Kansas at 24.

These rankings follow a steady line of projections surrounding the Utes and their placement in the Top 25 heading into the season and barring a few outliers, it seems as if the consensus for Utah's placement is between 9-15, and after a sub-par 2023 season, it shows just how good Kyle Whittingham and Co. are supposed to be.
