Let our fantasy experts help you pick a great golf lineup.
The CareerBuilder Challenge golf tournament is set for Jan. 18-21 at the PGA West Stadium Course in La Quinta, Calif. That means it's time to pick your optimal DraftKings fantasy golf lineup. Fortunately, our fantasy golf experts are ready to help.
Here's what our best CareerBuilder 2018 lineup looks like:
Phil Mickelson ($10,000)
Brian Harman’s an awfully tempting pick, but we’ll go with the less expensive lefty this week. Mickelson’s built a mini-career at the CareerBuilder (two wins, five top 10s); he’s rested (it’s his first outing since October); and when last seen, he was playing great (four straight top-20 finishes).
Chez Reavie ($8,800)
The last time Reavie missed a cut (May 2017), the Dow was under 21,000. The index has added 5,000 points since then, and Reavie has been building a bull market of his own. He’s six-for-six in top 25s since the new season started, and he’s money on the greens — eighth in strokes gained: putting.
Bud Cauley ($8,400)
Bud’s a bargain at this price, given that he finished T3 here last year and he’s coming off two top 10s in his last four starts. His stat profile is similarly impressive — he’s third in strokes gained: total.
Hudson Swafford ($7,800)
The defending champ followed up his win here last January by missing the cut in eight of his next 12 starts, but he’s righted the ship, with only one MC in his last 15. Still, it’s strictly a horse/course play, although he can get hot (14th on Tour in total birdies).
Brian Stuard ($7,500)
Stuard doesn’t get much ink, but he presents an enticing combination of reasonably priced, currently hot (three top 10s in his last five starts), and course-comfortable (top 10s at the CareerBuilder in 2013 and 2014).
Lucas Glover ($7,500)
Doesn’t have much to recommend him aside from course horse-dom (five career top 20s at the CareerBuilder), but Glover’s still capable of the occasional out-of-nowhere top 10.
