The Detroit Lions kick off their postseason on Saturday when they host the Washington Commanders at Ford Field for their divisional-round game. This will be Detroit’s first game in the playoffs after securing the No. 1 seed in the NFC and a first-round bye.

Big things are expected from quarterback Jared Goff as he hopes to lead the Lions to a win against the Commanders. Goff is in the midst of arguably his best season in a Detroit uniform, and the fans will want the four-time Pro Bowler to keep his foot on the gas come Saturday.

Goff’s wife, Christen Goff, took to Instagram on Friday to make an announcement ahead of the highly anticipated clash. Christen Goff is a native of Valencia, California, and she has been doing what she can to help amid the devastating wildfires that have gripped the southern part of the state.

Jared Goff is also from California. He was born in Novato, went to high school at Marin Catholic in Kentfield and is an alumnus of the University of California, Berkeley. Together, the couple announced they have teamed with Michigan-based real estate company Crain Homes to help those who have been affected by the wildfires.

Crain Homes and the Goffs are soliciting help from Detroiters in the wake of the destruction and death in California. They are auctioning two VIP tickets for Saturday’s game in Ford Field.

Christen Goff provided more information via her Instagram Stories, including the fact that all proceeds of the auction will go to the nonprofit organization California Strong.

For anyone interested, bids can be made via this website. At stake are two VIP front-row tickets with VIP parking, early stadium access and all-inclusive food and beverages in “an exclusive luxury environment.”

In a CNN report, Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass said “the city is turning a corner in its fight against wildfires.” The mayor plans to issue a series of executive orders next week with the objective of getting “on the path toward rebuilding.”

Bass noted “there is no greater priority than getting people back home.”
