Let our fantasy experts help you pick a great golf lineup.
The Hero World Challenge golf tournament is set for Nov. 30-Dec. 3 at Albany in New Providence, The Bahamas. That means it's time to pick your optimal DraftKings fantasy golf lineup. Fortunately, our fantasy golf experts are ready to help.
Here's what our best Hero World Challenge 2017 lineup looks like:
Dustin Johnson ($10,700)
DJ was last seen blowing a sizable lead at the WGC-HSBC and finishing T2. Fortunately, he went home to Paulina and promptly forgot all about it. Even with his notoriously short memory, he’ll remember that Albany suits him well (T3 last year), as do most venues these days.
Brooks Koepka ($9,200)
Koepka’s last three outings look like this: 6th (Tour Championship), T2 (WGC-HSBC) and 1st (Dunlop Phoenix in Japan). The reigning U.S. Open champion is on fire right now and is up to No. 7 in the World Golf Ranking.
Justin Rose ($8,600)
Rose owns a home at Albany, but he’s right at home everywhere as of late, with eight straight top 10s, including two wins. That torrid streak has lifted him from 15th to sixth in the World Golf Ranking. We’d consider him the favorite this week, making his price tag feel like a trip to the Dollar Store.
Patrick Reed ($7,500)
Has back-to-back top 10s at the Hero — a 22-under runner-up finish in 2015 and a solo 10th in 2016. His play has been a little lackluster of late, but he is coming off a T10 at the DP World Tour Championship, and he tied for second at the PGA.
Matt Kuchar ($7,000)
Yes, he’s boring — both in demeanor and in ball flight. His low-flying lasers will serve him well this week, as he proved here last year with a T3. Not that it matters at the no-cut Hero, but he hasn’t missed a cut since early April. That’s 20 tournaments ago.
Tiger Woods ($6,500)
My 2008 self would have taken this as a sign of the end times: We’re taking a late, cheap flyer this week on Tiger Woods. The 41-year-old 14-time major winner makes his return to competitive golf in a no-cut, limited-field event — the perfect place to knock off the rust and re-fire the competitive engine. No idea what to expect, but it will be interesting.
