Finding deep league adds just two weeks into the 2026 fantasy baseball season presents a bit of a unique challenge. We’re dealing with small sample sizes but you’re probably already seeing some separation in the standings. To help, we’ll identify players you should claim for the coming week, as well as some players to consider dropping. Specifically, we’re looking for players owned in less than 30% of Yahoo leagues.
Top Deep League Adds After Week 2 of 2026
Players You Must Claim This Week

TJ Rumfield, 1B (5%) — Rumfield mashed five home runs in spring training with a .913 OPS and he’s carried that into the season thus far. He’s slashing .429/.478/.619 and started all six of the Rockies games at first. Historically, he’s made decent contact, and drawn walks without striking out above league average. He may not hit for a ton of power but he’s worth riding while he’s hot.
Mauricio Dubon, IF/OF (9%) — Multi-position eligibility can be a huge help in deep leagues and Dubon is eligible at 2B, SS, 3B and OF. He’s off to a .429/.478/.619 start as the starting shortstop in a stacked Braves lineup. He won’t provide much power but should be a decent source of runs and perhaps RBI.
Jordan Walker, OF (10%) — We’ve been waiting for the Walker breakout season since his solid 2023 rookie season. Unfortunately, there’s been way too much swing and miss in his game for him to reach his raw power. His .263/.364/.526 start across six games is encouraging. As is his 13.6% walk rate and 22.7% strikeout rate. It’s worth a waiver wire claim to see if this is going to be the year.
Dominic Canzone, OF (12%) — Canzone isn’t going to play against left-handed pitching but can be a decent streaming option against righties because of his power. His Statcast numbers are notable for his 95.8 MPH exit velocity and 61% hard hit rate so far this season. He puts the ball in play and doesn’t strike out often. He batted .300/.358/.481 across 268 PA last season with 11 HR. He’s got nothing left to prove in the minors, so he’s likely here to stay.
Lance McCullers, SP (28%) — It’s only been one start but McCullers looks healthy for the first time in a long time. The velocity isn’t quite what it once was but the cutter he added last year has looked good and been effective in conjunction with his sinker and knuckle curve. If he can stay healthy there could be some good numbers from him.
Taj Bradley, SP (23%) — I’ll admit that I’m skeptical about Bradley as I said in this week’s 2-Start Pitchers article, but that was after just one start. Now that I’ve seen a second solid start I’m feeling a bit better about him. The strikeout rate (27.9%) is closer to what he put up in his 2023-24 seasons. He’s cut down the spin on his secondary stuff and it looks like that’s working better for him. I still expect the occasional clunker but you can’t argue with what he’s done so far.
Landon Roupp SP (12%) — Roupp isn’t a big strikeout threat but he will produce league average numbers. He’s all about his sinker, to which he’s added a tick of velocity, and his changeup, which induces all kinds of weak contact. If you need the innings he’s a decent add who won’t hurt your numbers.
Must-Drop Candidates in Deep Leagues

Players to Cut Loose Immediately
These players are all off to a terrible start and really don’t belong on anyone’s roster. Cut bait now and go with one of the options above if they’re available. You can’t afford to wait.
Josh Jung, 3B (5%) — Jung is 2-for-21 with zero walks to date, and both his 5.2% career walk rate and 28% strikeout rate are clear red flags. He was off my draft list and he’s proving to be a liability in points leagues because of all the swing and miss. Let him go and be somebody else’s miserable hot corner problem.
Jake McCarthy, OF (2%) — The only reason to roster McCarthy is the stolen base potential. He doesn’t hit particularly well, doesn’t hit for power, and he doesn’t get on base. His .111/.158/.167 start to the season as a starting outfielder for the Rockies is all you need to see to cut bait.
Coby Mayo, 1B/3B (5%) — I actually drafted Mayo thinking that his spring training .378/.405/.622 mark was a good sign of things to come. Unfortunately, he’s been dead on arrival out of the gate. He’s flailing at the ball and not hitting well when he does put it in play. It wouldn’t surprise me to see Blaze Alexander displace Mayo at third base when Jackson Holliday is activated off the IL in the next few days. Then Mayo won’t have anywhere to play and the O’s just might burn his last minor league option.
Caleb Durbin (24%) — When you start off with a first pitch strike 60% of the time you’re going to have difficulty making quality contact. Durbin is seeing a steady diet of offspeed and breaking pitches so far and not hitting any of it. I get it. You were hoping to snatch a starting piece of the Red Sox offense and maybe get some power and speed from Durbin. I don’t think it’s going to happen.
