As the 2019 fantasy football season nears, it's time to examine players who could make or break your fantasy team. Here's a look at Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver A.J. Green and his fantasy outlook for the season ahead.
A torn hamstring ended Green’s 2016, but he made it through a full 16 games the next year. Can he do the same now after December toe surgery? The veteran will bear watching through the summer. But even amid the injuries, Green has ranked top 12 across formats in fantasy points per game over the past three years. Zac Taylor is the first offensive-minded head coach in Green’s career, and the wideout tells Pro Football Talk there’s already a “different energy.”
Size: 6'4", 210
Age: 31 (when season starts)
Bye Week: 9
Injury still looks like the only thing that can stop Green. If he looks healthy this summer, draft him at what’s likely to be sale prices.
With only 694 yards in nine games, Green was somewhat of a disappointment in 2018. He was dealing with a toe injury and tried to play through it before finally electing to have surgery in early December. Green also played through hip/groin injuries earlier in the season. He will be 31 to start the season, but he still is a top-15 wide receiver for 2019.
Is A.J. Green still a no-doubt WR1 in fantasy coming off an injury-plagued season?
Green might not be the sure thing you used to grab in the first or second round, but he’s still a solid WR1. The emergence of Tyler Boyd could be a big benefit for Green in 2019. The numbers prove that when Green is healthy, he’s as consistent as they come.
