Projections for the season ahead
As the 2020 fantasy football season nears, it's time to examine players who could make or break your fantasy team. Here's a look at Los Angeles Chargers running back Austin Ekeler and his fantasy outlook for the season ahead.
Ekeler racked up the fantasy points while Melvin Gordon III held out last season. But he even ranked top 6 across fantasy formats from Week 5 on, when Gordon was back in the lineup. The Chargers let Gordon walk and then gave Ekeler a top-10 running back contract. Justin Jackson and rookie Joshua Kelley will garner some touches, but Ekeler figures to emerge as the clear backfield leader and remain a top-4 receiver at the position.

Ekeler has already displayed top-5 upside even while averaging fewer than 10 carries per game. He could reach that range for 2020.
