Projections for the season ahead
As the 2020 fantasy football season nears, it's time to examine players who could make or break your fantasy team. Here's a look at Detroit Lions rookie running back D'Andre Swift and his fantasy outlook for the season ahead.
We won’t know until the preseason how the Lions’ backfield will sort out. But it would be a waste to draft Swift 35th overall if they didn’t plan to run him ahead of Kerryon Johnson. Swift tore up the SEC, averaging 6.6 yards per carry and 9.1 yards per catch across three seasons. He never reached 200 carries in a year but could lead Detroit’s backfield without doing so as well. Swift arrives as one of the class’ most accomplished receiving backs.

Swift should immediately lead the Detroit backfield, but he might see inconsistent touches. He’s more interesting in full PPR than other formats.
