As the 2020 fantasy football season nears, it's time to examine players who could make or break your fantasy team. Here's a look at Houston Texans running back David Johnson and his fantasy outlook for the season ahead.
Johnson declined to a shocking extent as a rusher by any measure last season. But Football Outsiders still rated him top 8 among running backs in receiving efficiency. The Texans saw enough to ask for him in the DeAndre Hopkins trade. Coach Bill O’Brien called Johnson a three-down back, which Carlos Hyde wasn’t last season (just 16 targets). Johnson could take over Hyde’s rushing workload and siphon targets from Duke Johnson, as long as he stays healthy.

Johnson looked done as a runner last year, but volume is key in fantasy. He could climb into the top 20 with a three-down workload.
