Projections for the season ahead
As the 2020 fantasy football season nears, it's time to examine players who could make or break your fantasy team. Here's a look at Chicago Bears running back David Montgomery and his fantasy outlook for the season ahead.
Football Outsiders rated Montgomery 40th or worse in both its main rushing efficiency metrics last season, out of 45 qualifiers. He fared a little better as a receiver, though still not well. The good news: Chicago added nothing to the backfield. That suggests Montgomery’s workload will rebound after declining late in 2019. Unfortunately, the Bears also added nothing to an offensive line that FO and Pro Football Focus rated poor in run-blocking.

Montgomery’s best hope is that Chicago wins more games and can afford to run more. Otherwise, not enough has changed here.
