The Chicago Bears DST draws a tough opening assignment against the new-look Green Bay Packers offense
The Chicago Bears and Mike McCarthy-less Green Bay Packers kick off the season this Thursday. I am already on record claiming that the Bears will not be the top fantasy defense/special teams (DST) this year and that starts with Week 1. Vegas is picking both teams to exceed 20 points and neither is a top-five DST this week.
Baltimore is on the road, but they are your top DST this week taking on the already tanking Dolphins. The Eagles are a very close second hosting Washington. Washington might not be tanking but they are still in absolute disarray. I am expecting the Redskins will be met with very little kindness from the City of Brotherly Love.
Some other sites have the Chargers as this week's top defensive play and I still have them in the top five, but Indianapolis' offense will be better than you think even with Jacoby Brissett taking Andrew Luck's place. For those who take part in DFS and others who stream their DST, I'd stick with the top six options below. Week 1 is always tough, but after those six is where my confidence in that DST having a great game drops.
