Right at the DST1 edge of my Week 11 fantasy defense/special teams (DST) rankings lies an interesting conundrum.
I honestly was not sure whether I should have ranked the Philadelphia Eagles 11th and New Orleans Saints 12th or the other way around. What makes it more interesting is that the two of them are playing one another.
I like New Orleans' defense itself better than Philadelphia's. The Saints have given up less than 20 points a game compared to the 23-plus that the Eagles have allowed. But I think the Philly offense is a tougher matchup as well. The Eagles are scoring slightly more points per game than New Orleans. And the Saints have some uncertainty at quarterback because of the season-ending injury to Jameis Winston.
But more specifically, this game is in Philadelphia and not New Orleans. And if you know me, you know that I prefer defenses that are playing at home.
So this one basically comes down to a coin-flip, and I decided to go with New Orleans because I do have one share of the Saints and none of the Eagles. But come closer because I've got a little secret... I'm putting in a claim for the Philly DST because the Eagles have a better fantasy playoffs schedule than New Orleans!
