Predicting defense/special teams (DST) rankings for fantasy football early in the season is still a challenge. Week 1 went according to plan for some teams (Baltimore) and not so much for others (Detroit). Fantasy owners did learn some things. For example, the Chicago Bears' defense is a solid unit that may be able to be used each week, regardless of matchup. Against Aaron Rodgers (for most of the game) and the Green Bay Packers, they still finished in the top 10 for fantasy points among DSTs.
For Week 2, the Los Angeles Rams hold the top spot in the rankings. In Week 1, depending on league scoring, the Rams finished in the top five in fantasy points. The Oakland Raiders struggled (putting up less than 14 points definitely helps DSTs), and the Rams face the Arizona Cardinals in Week 2. Sam Bradford looked dreadful in Week 1, and while it is possible he is just shaking off some rust, the Rams are a solid option for Week 2.
