Defense/Special Teams Rankings: NFL Fantasy Week 2

Richard Sherman and the 49ers DST had a field day last week against Jameis Winston and the Buccaneers

I went out on a limb picking the 49ers last week as an under-the-radar fantasy defense/special teams and they finished as the No. 1 fantasy DST last week. They've got another great matchup this week but they are nowhere near my top pick for Week 2. That slot is reserved for the obvious chalk pick of the New England Patriots. The Patriots defense kept the Pittsburgh Steelers in check fairly easily on Sunday night. Now they get to take on an even weaker offense in Miami. If the players are threatening to leave the Dolphins' sinking ship after last week's debacle, you can start deploying the lifeboats now.

Washington had the clamps on Philadelphia for a bit, but in the end, Carson Wentz and company put up 32 points. I expect Dak Prescott and his crew to do similar damage, which is why I have the Redskins near the bottom of my rankings again.

Last week I said stick with the top six DST options. This week there are far more viable options and I don't hate anyone inside my top 20.
