Just when we thought we had a handle on predicting fantasy defense/special teams (DST), Week 3 happened. Against all odds, not only did the Buffalo Bills defeat the Minnesota Vikings in one of the biggest upsets in years, but (depending on league scoring), the Bills scored the most fantasy points among all DSTs. The Steelers, the Seahawks, the Bears and the Titans rounded out the top five for the week. While some of those may be a fluke (or matchup-dependent), the Bears are legit. Sure, the test against Sam Bradford wasn't a tough one, but this unit has looked good.
For some fantasy owners, it's time to play DST roulette (or stream defenses). The Green Bay Packers are ranked No. 4 for Week 4. This unit hasn't been anything special this year, but they are home and playing the Buffalo Bills. While it is possible that the Bills are better than they showed in the first two weeks, it's more likely that they struggles, especially with a rookie quarterback on the road. The Packers are 30 percent owned and should be a decent fill-in. (Next week they go to Detroit for those looking ahead. Green Bay won't be as highly ranked in Week 5.)
Teams on bye: Carolina, Washington
