My Week 5 fantasy football defense/special teams (DST) rankings discussion is going to sound very familiar to my Week 3 breakdown.
Because again, I'm skipping any discussion of the teams at the top. My rankings at the top are not that noteworthy. Instead, I'd like to focus my comments once again on those who "stream" defenses.
When streaming defenses, the top 20 options are often unavailable. And I would still stay away from New England as I like the Patriots even less than the Expert Consensus Rankings (ECR), which have them inside the top 20. I don't.
The Pats managed just one sack against Green Bay last week and needed a DST touchdown to salvage their day. Furthermore, I believe in the Detroit Lions' offense, which New England will be trying to stop this weekend. Notice I said trying. The Lions have 18 TDs through four weeks this season. That's good for... wait for it... tops in the league!
I wouldn't touch the Patriots DST this week and for some better options check out my Week 5 rankings below.
