The reoccurring theme for my Week 6 fantasy positional rankings closely adhering to the ECR (Expert Consensus Rankings) is most apparent in my defense/special teams (DST) list.
I'm not sure I've ever been this closely aligned! I'm actually concerned about how closely aligned I am, so let's just talk about this week's top DST option, the Los Angeles Rams.
We start with the matchup. The New York Giants have the 10th-fewest points in the league. And that was with Daniel Jones at quarterback. Jones is currently in the concussion protocol and may or may not start this week. Mike Glennon is far from the worst backup in the league, but he's definitely a step down from Jones. Despite just 25 pass attempts, he has two INTs already. And he had a couple of "near picks" against the Cowboys last week. And now Aaron Donald and the Rams come to town? Yikes.
The Rams are tied for the sixth-most interceptions this season, tied for the fifth in sacks, and despite playing two of the more prolific offenses in the league (Cardinals and Buccaneers), Los Angeles is still in the top half of the league in scoring defense.
I know Halloween is still a couple of weeks away, but what the Rams might do to Glennon might be the scariest thing this October.
