Defense/Special Teams Rankings Week 7: Tremaine Edmunds/Buffalo Bills

The Week 7 defense/special teams (DST) rankings for fantasy football this week are all about the matchups. The top half dozen DSTs this week are likely already owned, but I've ranked them even higher due to the weakness of their opponents. And that handful behind them may or may not be owned, but again, I have them ranked higher due to their matchup.

The Jacksonville Jaguars, Jalen Ramsey or not, are one of those teams with an excellent matchup this week. Cincinnati has managed to stay afloat with a passing game in the top half of the league. However, they are the worst in the league when it comes to running the ball. Given that Jacksonville has been among the most generous fantasy defenses to RBs (seventh in fantasy points allowed to the position), a trip to Cincinnati might be just what the Jags need.

On the flip side of that coin is the Bengals defense, which has been bad. Let's not pull any punches. They have been worse than Miami bad! Miami has given up 170 rushing yards rushing per game. Cincinnati is surrendering a league-worst 184 yards on the ground per contest! If for some bizarre reason Cincy is your only option at DST this week, you would be better off not filling that spot.

At least on your bench, the Bengals DST can't lose points for you. The same also can be said for Carolina, Cleveland, Pittsburgh, and Tampa Bay, but that's because those teams are on bye.
