Defense/Special Teams Rankings: NFL Fantasy Week 9

With backup QBs starting for Dallas and Jacksonville, look to play the Steelers and Texans DSTs

In Week 8, not many fantasy owners started the Miami Dolphins defense/special teams (DST). However, if they decided to do just that against the Los Angeles Rams, they would have been rewarded with the most fantasy points from any DST in Week 8. The Dolphins scored two defensive touchdowns, while recording two sacks, two interceptions, and two fumble recoveries. The Rams only put up 17 points as well, making the Miami DST a great play. In Week 9, the Dolphins DST is ranked No. 21 against the Arizona Cardinals. Don't jump on the Dolphins because of their Week 8 performance. Also, the Rams are on a bye so you can't look to grab whichever team is facing them.

The Pittsburgh Steelers are undoubtedly the No. 1 DST in Week 9. They face the Dallas Cowboys, who are not only without Dak Prescott and Andy Dalton (added to the Reserve/COVID-19 list this week) but now the team has apparently benched Ben DiNucci as well. Either Garrett Gilbert or Cooper Rush will be the starting quarterback against one of the best defenses in the National Football League. Enjoy the points, Steelers DST fantasy owners.

Another quarterback that will be out is Gardner Minshew. He injured his thumb in the game prior to last week's bye and has already been ruled out for Week 9. Jake Luton will get the start, which may mean good things for the Houston Texans DST. They are ranked No. 3 this week and are available in more than 90 percent of leagues. This is a great streaming DST for Week 9.
