My fantasy defense/special teams (DST) rankings for Week 9 are lacking intrigue. But to keep things interesting, time for a little "Strange but True." I'll give you some interesting findings you might not have otherwise believed. Perhaps they will influence your fantasy football decision this week, perhaps they won't...
Fact: The Rams have 25 sacks this year. The most in the NFL so far this season!
The Rams having 25 sacks isn't so strange. But the fact that they went out and add Von Miller this week to an already fearsome pass rush is hard to believe.
Fact: Only four teams have a safety so far this year: Giants, Raiders, Texans, and Panthers!
If I told you to name the four teams before telling you, how many guesses do you think it would have taken to get them all right? 10? 20? More?
Fact: The Ravens have five interceptions but zero interception yards!
Ed Reed is not walking through that door anytime soon.
Fact: Last week was the first week that Atlanta failed to register a sack!
Yup. It's true. It might seem like Atlanta has often failed to get to the quarterback. And that might be because the Falcons have a league-low 10 sacks so far this year. But last week's ugly loss to Carolina was the first goose egg in the sack department for Atlanta.
Fact: The Dolphins have allowed twice as many passing yards as the Bills!
Okay, this one actually is not true. But almost! The Bills have allowed just 1,277 passing yards while Miami has allowed a little north of 2,300 yards. So much for that amazing Miami secondary.
Fact: The Jaguars are the only team so far this season without a fumble recovery!
This one is true. Given how bad Jacksonville has been and the fact that they only have one forced fumble period, maybe it's not strange. But still kind of eye-opening!
