Fantasy Football 2013 Quarterback Rankings: Week 11

Robert Griffin III tied his season high with three touchdown passes against Minnesota last week

There's a change at the top of Athlon Sports' fantasy football Week 11 quarterback rankings, as health and matchup definitely play a part in the decision. Peyton Manning may be the No. 1 fantasy scorer at his position, but he's starting to show some wear and tear from the hits he has taken recently and faces undefeated Kansas City on Sunday night. The Chiefs not only are ahead of the Broncos in the AFC West, they lead the NFL in sacks and are the top-scoring fantasy DST.

At least for this week, Drew Brees gets the nod for No. 1 in our rankings, despite his upcoming date with San Francisco. The 49ers' defense has played very well lately, but Brees and the Saints are at home, where they have been basically unstoppable. Last Sunday night, Brees torched the Cowboys for 392 yards passing and four touchdowns, as the Saints put up 49 points and piled up an NFL-record 40 first downs. Brees has an 18:2 touchdown-to-interception ratio in the Mercedes-Benz Superdome this season (five games), which was enough of a reason to slot him ahead of a gimpy Manning.

From a matchup standpoint, however, the top two choices would probably be Robert Griffin III and NIck Foles, whose teams meet up in Philadelphia. After a slow start, RGIII has shown improvement and more of the explosiveness he had as a rookie with each passing game. He put up 281 yards passing and three touchdowns last week against Minnesota and will get his second crack at a Philadelphia defense that is second-to-last in the NFL in passing yards allowed. Meanwhile all Foles has done is throw 16 touchdown passes without an interception so far, including 10 in his last two games. Remember, Foles didn't start against Washington in Week 1, Michael Vick did, and the Redskins are near the bottom of the rankings when it comes to yards (388.6 ypg, 27th) and points (31.9, 31st) allowed and also have surrendered 19 touchdown passes.

Each week during the NFL season, we will rank enough players at each position to appease everyone from those in 8-team leagues to 16-team leagues, those that can start two QBs, two TEs, three RBs and four WRs. We cut out the rest, because if you're looking at who the 50th-best running back or the 17th-best kicker is for that week, you need more help than any website can give you.
