Fantasy Football 2016 Running Back Rankings: Week 6

DeMarco Murray is second in the NFL in rushing and third among running backs in receptions

Le’Veon Bell may have grabbed the spotlight when he returned in Week 4, but he and every other running back are looking up at David Johnson when it comes to fantasy scoring. Last week’s No. 1 option, Johnson delivered in a big way, rushing for 157 yards against San Francisco, the most by any player in a game this season.

Johnson also has scored five touchdowns and his 238 receiving yards are second at his position to Atlanta’s Tevin Coleman (313). This week Johnson gets the Monday night spotlight against the Jets and their stout defensive line, but there’s no reason to not trust this Cardinal.

Johnson isn’t the only young back to impress in the early going, however, as Dallas’ Ezekiel Elliott is leading the NFL in rushing as a rookie with 546 yards and trails only Johnson and DeMarco Murray in fantasy points (Athlon scoring) among RBs. Elliott will face his toughest test yet Sunday when the Cowboys face Green Bay’s No. 1 rushing defense (42.8 yards per game) at Lambeau Field.

Elsewhere, keep an eye out to see if some injured running backs either return after absences or are OK after getting hurt last week. This group includes Eddie Lacy (ankle), Jeremy Hill (shoulder), Jonathan Stewart (hamstring), Arian Foster (groin), Rashad Jennings (thumb), and Dwayne Washington (ankle).
