J.J. Watt's return puts the Texans DST atop the Week 1 rankings
Trying to provide rankings for defense/special teams (DST) for Week 1 of the fantasy football is always a challenge. We can analyze what took place in the preseason and factor in last year’s statistics, but until we’ve actually seen each team play, it’s hard to say how a DST will perform.
Some DSTs are higher than they may normally be because of matchups. The Los Angeles Rams, for example, crack the top five this week because of the home matchup with the Andrew Luck-less Indianapolis Colts. But that doesn’t meant this will be the norm for the Rams, especially if All-Pro tackle Aaron Donald continues his holdout. The Bills (hosting the Jets) also make the top 10, but again this is based purely on matchup. We should have a better idea on some of these DSTs after Week 1, but until then here are how they rank.
