Flex Rankings: NFL Fantasy Week 1

Alvin Kamara: Running Back Rankings Week 13

Don't be surprised when this Saint comes marching in with huge fantasy production this week.

The first name you will see in my Week 1 fantasy football flex rankings that is worth noting is Alvin Kamara.

I definitely like Kamara more this week than the Eexpert Consensus Rankings (ECR). Yes, I've got players such as Michael Pittman Jr. and Rashaad Penny with even greater boosts over the ECR at flex, but I already discussed each of those in my Week 1 RB rankings and WR rankings.

But I was high on Kamara all preseason, even before the news that any punishment for his off-field "transgressions" would likely be pushed at least to next season. How high? In my guillotine league, for example, I had the third overall pick, and Kamara was my selection.

Now, some of that is because of the nuances of a guillotine league. And the reason I grabbed Kamara is that he has one of the best early-season schedules. And that includes this week, against the Atlanta Falcons.

The Falcons gave up the 10th-most fantasy points to running backs last year. And you know the Saints would love nothing more than to jump ahead and then run the ball down the throat of their division rivals.

And lest we forget, despite a "down year," Kamara still had nine TDs and 1,337 yards from scrimmage. I am happy to make Kamara one of my highest flex plays this week. See below for the rest of my Week 1 flex rankings.
