Will Carlos Hyde continue to benefit from the quarterback change?
Several middle-of-the-pack flex options stepped it up with big games once again in Week 3, which has already made this fantasy season equally parts entertaining and frustrating. Players like Kenny Golladay, JuJu Smith Schuster, Calvin Ridley, Adrian Peterson and even Tyler Boyd have all become difference-makers and are giving owners who drafted or added these guys from the waiver wire a huge advantage early on.
It’s just Week 4, so there are plenty of games left but it's getting to the point where holding on to players who have done little or nothing solely because of their name recognition may not be in the best interests of your team. I'm not saying give up on proven veterans or injured players, but now is the time to make sure there aren't any rising stars still sitting on the waiver wire. Or perhaps engage an owner to see if someone you have your eye on is available via trade.
As for the flex rankings this week, there are no real surprises, other than this is the start of the bye weeks. It's a slow roll out with just two teams (Carolina, Washington) sitting it out, but this starts the stretch of the season where flex rankings take on a little more importance when you consider that guys like Christian McCaffrey, Adrian Peterson, Chris Thompson and Devin Funchess are not available.
Remember, as the season progresses, bye weeks, injuries and breakout seasons can really impact these rankings, which hopefully makes them more valuable as we move forward.
