Flex Rankings: NFL Fantasy Week 5

After playing through an ankle injury is DeAndre Hopkins ready to break out this week?

What I thought was going to originally be the focus of my Week 5 fantasy football flex rankings I had to completely scrap.

My original plan was to discuss how strong some of the top tight end matchups this week were and say it might not be a bad week to flex a top TE in over an option at a different position. But then I started doing my research and interestingly enough most of the TEs have mediocre matchups at best. Yes, even my top TE, George Kittle, has a tough matchup this week. See for yourself:

Tight End Opp FP Prevention Rank
George Kittle MIA 5th
Travis Kelce LV 2nd
Mark Andrews CIN 15th
Darren Waller KC 13th
Zach Ertz PIT 12th

With the top five options all having tough matchups this week, I would definitely stick to the ol' RB and WRs in your flex spot. But if you want me to go out on a limb, I will mention that I've got DeAndre Hopkins as the top flex option this week. The Jets haven't been that bad against WRs. And maybe 'Nuk parties too hard after hearing Bill O'Brien is collecting unemployment. But I think Hopkins will be the top-scoring non-QB this week in fantasy football.
