With four teams on a bye in Week 9 fantasy football owners need to be sure they have players to fill their flex spots. It often gets difficult between injuries and bye weeks and sometimes decisions have to be made early in the week. Christian Kirk, for example, is usually a solid WR2. However, the Arizona Cardinals face the San Francisco 49ers on Thursday night. Kirk is ranked No. 73 on the flex chart, but fantasy owners who have, say, Davante Adams, may debate starting Kirk on Thursday night, assuming Adams is out or holding off to see if Adams will finally return to game action.
This is where the flex ranking gets difficult. Kirk is a flex player this week. Adams is a clear WR1 if active. But in this dilemma, it may be tough to wait and see on Adams and may be worth rolling the dice on a player like Kirk. If the player you're debating is Deebo Samuel, for example, it may make more sense to wait for Adams, as you likely could find another player before Sunday who has a higher ranking/better fantasy value.
