Kicker Rankings: NFL Fantasy Week 14

Kicker Rankings Week 8: Jason Myers

If you choose to go with Jason Myers as your kicker this week at least you won't have to worry about the weather

My apologies as the Week 14 fantasy kicker rankings don't come with a lot of insight.

Want some advice however for this week? Check the weather reports before you lock in your kicker. The official start of winter is still less than two weeks away. Yet it's no secret that "the hawk is out."

For those not familiar with the phrase, it means it is cold outside. But that's a very whitebread, simplified translation. It doesn't simply mean you might want to consider putting on a hoodie. It's more of a "the wind is gonna smack your face raw so pull the hoodie over your entire face" kind of cold.

We saw what the wind could do during Monday night's game. There is a reason the Patriots attempted only three passes. What might look like a decent matchup for your kicker is suddenly rendered irrelevant as the wind pushes anything in the air this way and that.

So yes, both I and the ECR (Expert Consensus Rankings) have Justin Tucker ranked as the No. 1 kicker this week. But watch out for those winds whipping off Lake Erie in Cleveland this time of year. Too early in the week to know, but watch the forecast. But while I hated Tyler Bass last week, I like him much more this week playing on the road in Florida (against Tampa Bay). However, I'm not quite ready to give him K1 status. I also like Jason Myers far more than the ECR, as he is one of the few kickers who is kicking indoors this week!
