My Week 16 fantasy kicker rankings are pretty close to the ECR (Expert Consensus Rankings), and that includes having Justin Tucker outside of the number one spot.
I've decided I can no longer have Tucker in that spot, given how aggressive John Harbaugh is coaching this year. If Harbaugh is going to continue to eschew extra points and field goals in order to "go for it," Tucker is just not going to have the opportunities that some other kickers will have.
I still think Tucker is the best kicker in the game. But his fantasy prospects are in an absolute tail-spin with Harbaugh coaching the way he is.
Regarding last week's decision to "go for two," I believe the arguments on both sides are very compelling. I'm not really convinced it was the wrong or right decision. The only thing I am convinced of right now is that Harbaugh does not trust his secondary.
And until he does, he's going to continue to coach offensively aggressive, which means Tucker has been spending more time on the sideline. It's unfortunate, but to quote one of Harbaugh's predecessors, "it is what it is."
