Kicker Rankings: NFL Fantasy Week 5

Daniel Carlson, Las Vegas Raiders

Daniel Carlson has gotten off to a nice start this season and he could continue to be a viable fantasy option

For better or worse, my fantasy kicker rankings are more similar to the ECR (Expert Consensus Rankings) each week than any of my other rankings. This means the Week 5 kicker rankings look a lot alike.

With so little variation, let's look at the top 10 fantasy scorers among the kickers so far for the 2021 season along with some quick thoughts on how accurate I was in my preseason rankings. Or not...

-Justin Tucker is the top kicker so far this season. I had him atop my preseason rankings, but I'm not taking a bow for doing so.

-Tyler Bass is next. I had him in my top 10, but much closer to No. 10 than No. 1. As long as Buffalo continues to be a high-scoring machine, Bass will have a high floor every week. However, let's see what happens when those winds start whipping and the Buffalo winter arrives.

-Daniel Carlson is currently No. 3. He's going to be far more valuable than I thought.

-Matt Prater, Matt Gay, and Nick Folk are the next three. I had all three in a similar range.

-Brandon McManus I had among the top dozen, but not seventh. I foresee a ton of variability. He could easily rise or fall half a dozen spots between now and the end of the season.

-Chase McLaughlin is No. 8. I missed on him big time.

-Rodrigo Blankenship and Graham Gano round out the top 10. I'd bet on them falling, but I had both in the top 20. So they will drop, but they're not going fall off a cliff either.
