Kicker Rankings: NFL Fantasy Week 7

Chase McLaughlin, Cleveland Browns

After bouncing around with several teams, Chase McLaughlin may have found a home in Cleveland

Jason Sanders and Evan McPherson get a little more love in my Week 7 fantasy kicker rankings, but the only kicker I really like more compared to the ECR (Expert Consensus Rankings) is Chase McLaughlin. Who is Chase McLaughlin?

He's evidence to the old adage that if at first you don't succeed, try try try again. He played for Illinois and as a three-year starter never once missed an extra point. He made just under 75 percent of his field goals and not surprisingly, went undrafted. However, in the 2019 and '20 seasons, he kicked for five different NFL teams as a fill-in or injury replacement.

This season, he started off with the job in Cleveland and has produced. Not only has he made all 15 of his extra points, but he has yet to miss a field goal (9-for-9 with a long of 57) either.

Yes, the Browns are really beat up with the news that Case Keenum will start on Thursday night in place of Baker Mayfield, but Cleveland should still be able to move the ball on a Broncos team that has its own issues. And if the offense can get close but not reach the end zone that should lead to several opportunities for McLaughlin to put some points on the board, maybe even a few long attempts. He definitely isn't an exciting pick, but might be worth a start with six teams on bye
