Leonard Fournette: Fantasy Outlook 2019

Projections for the season ahead

As the 2019 fantasy football season nears, it's time to examine players who could make or break your fantasy team. Here's a look at Jacksonville Jaguars running back Leonard Fournette and his fantasy outlook for the season ahead.

Fantasy Outlook

Fournette has been inefficient and oft-injured through two seasons. So what’s to like? He gets the ball. Fournette ranked third in the league in carries per game as a rookie in 2017. When he finally played six of last year’s final seven games, he averaged 18.8 carries in those contests. That would have ranked second for the season. Fournette could see a boost from his 2.8 catches per game now that T.J. Yeldon is gone. Yeldon caught 3.5 passes per game over the past two years.

Size: 6'0", 228
Age: 24
Bye Week: 10

Is he an injury concern? Fournette suffered a hamstring injury in 2018 that he just couldn’t get right. He ended up missing eight games; he tried to come back in Week 4 and re-aggravated the injury. After the Week 9 bye, Fournette was able to return and finish the season, although he wasn’t very productive. Fournette has missed 11 games in his first two seasons, so chances are good that he will miss some time at some point in 2019.

Quick Take

You can skip the durability headache if you want. Fournette’s disappointing 2018 will discount his 2019 price and add value, though.

Season Projections for 2019

260 carries, 962 yards, 9 rushing TDs; 54 receptions, 432 yards, 1 receiving TD
