As the 2020 fantasy football season nears, it's time to examine players who could make or break your fantasy team. Here's a look at Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford and his fantasy outlook for the season ahead.
Stafford might have been heading for his best season before fractures in his back ended 2019 prematurely. He ranked second among fantasy quarterbacks in points per game on the strength of career highs in touchdown rate and yards per pass attempt. Improvement from 2019 rookie TE T.J. Hockenson seems likely, and rookie RB D’Andre Swift brings a strong receiving profile. But regression from last year’s rates still is a strong possibility for Stafford.

Stafford is another solid option if you plan to wait on your first quarterback. Just don’t expect a repeat of last year’s early numbers.
