Quarterback Rankings: NFL Fantasy Week 1

Deshaun Watson will have a new left tackle for the season opener

The New Orleans Saints are no pushover on defense, but Deshaun Watson is going to love the addition of Laremy Tunsil to the Houston offensive line, a late move that impacts the Week 1 fantasy quarterback rankings. Throw in the addition of Kenny Stills to the Texans' Houston receiving corps and Watson is going to be loving life this week. Reigning NFL MVP Patrick Mahomes has a tough matchup this week against Jacksonville but he will be in my top three every week until he proves me otherwise.

On the other side of the ball in that Houston game, I expect Sean Payton and Drew Brees to pick apart the now Jadeveon Clowney-less Texans on an indoor track. Others like Jameis Winston this week a lot, but I need to see him do it before I believe it. However, I'm willing to soften my stance and give him QB1 status this week.

Cam Newton, however, I am not. Recall that he had surgery this offseason and then got injured this preseason. In addition to the questionable wheel, the Rams are an extremely tough matchup for the Panthers offense. Newton will likely have a serviceable game, but there is the potential for a nightmare Week 1 performance.
