I was reviewing my Week 18 fantasy quarterback rankings because something just felt wrong. And then I realized what it was — Aaron Rodgers was nowhere to be seen, not even inside the top 20!
But both I and the ECR (Expert Consensus Rankings) have no qualms about that. He probably should not even be in the top 30. With the Packers having clinched home field throughout the playoffs, my guess is Rodgers sees the field very little if at all this weekend.
I'm not going to argue whether or not Rodgers should be MVP. Can we just agree that he's had an extremely good year? He's the most important player on the team with the best record in the entire league. He is currently just a little short of 4,000 passing yards with a sparkling 35:4 touchdown-to-interception ratio.
But if your league is holding its fantasy Super Bowl this week, I hope you don't have Rodgers. Because it might be the Jordan Love show on Sunday in Detroit. However, if you handcuffed Rodgers with Love (for this exact scenario), what should you expect?
Well, Detroit is allowing 244 passing yards per game. That sounds like a good estimate for Love. Detroit also is giving up 1.6 touchdown passes per game. I think we can count on Love for at least one TD, but I wouldn't be surprised if he has two or three total.
