Projections for the season ahead
As the 2020 fantasy football season nears, it's time to examine players who could make or break your fantasy team. Here's a look at San Francisco 49ers running back Raheem Mostert and his fantasy outlook for the season ahead.
Mostert matched Tevin Coleman in carries last regular season, and then each guy posted a big rushing game in the playoffs. Mostert beat Coleman across the board in advanced metrics, though, and that showed up in his 5.6 to 4.0 edge in yards per rush. Matt Breida’s trade to Miami left another 142 running back touches available in an offense that went second-most run-heavy in the league last season. Oft-injured Jerick McKinnon must prove he’ll be a factor. After expressing his desire to be traded in early July, Mostert and the 49ers agreed to a restructured contract right before the scheduled start of training camp, yet another indication he's a big part of the team's plans in 2020.

Mostert scored in eight of the final nine games last year, including the playoffs. He’s the better upside bet in the 49ers backfield.
