Fantasy owners this season seem to have been burned by the waiver wire for many weeks. Chase Edmonds, Ty Johnson, and most recently Brian Hill, were hot waiver wire adds that didn't quite pan out the way fantasy owners expected. Heading into Week 11, Hill looked like he would be a solid RB2. Devonta Freeman was injured, the Carolina Panthers' run defense wasn't great, and Hill could fill in just fine. He ended the day with 15 carries for 30 yards. He added one reception for eight yards. Ouch.
This week on the waiver wire, Bo Scarbrough is the running back to grab. However, those fantasy owners that were burned by the aforementioned Johnson may hesitate a bit — and with good reason. Sure, Scarbrough did well in Week 11 (55 rushing yards and a touchdown) but there is no sign that this will be his backfield moving forward. He's ranked No. 23 for this week. One running back to keep an eye on in PPR formats is Jaylen Samuels (yes, again). James Conner is injured, and while he has not yet been ruled out for another game, it doesn't look like he will play (he's not included in the rankings). With JuJu Smith-Schuster also banged up and Diontae Johnson in the concussion protocol, look for Samuels to have plenty of targets in Week 12. He's ranked No. 19.
